As all good stories start here at Signarama Brighton...

I was minding my own business amidst the usual inbox chaos when a "Congratulations on Winning..." email caught my eye. My initial thought? "Spam!" I flagged it for later investigation (you know, the usual block-and-report routine). Later I discovered it was from Signs of the Times Magazine. The news? I had been honored with a 2025 Women in Signs award. The irony wasn't lost on me, as I had nominated my boss, Dawn, for the same recognition a few years prior.

After a moment of disbelief and subsequent verification, the reality of the award began to sink in. Signs of the Times annually recognizes the top 5 women driving innovation and growth within the sign industry, chosen from hundreds of nominations across North America. To be among them was truly surprising.

My first instinct was to share the news with Dawn, whose enthusiastic congratulations made the achievement feel real. The subsequent magazine interview was a memorable experience, complete with initial technical difficulties that led to a slightly rambling phone conversation. I left that interview laughing at my rambling-self, but also grappling with imposter syndrome. Despite the evidence, it can be difficult to internalize such an achievement.

Reflecting on my eleven years in the sign industry, my early career was profoundly shaped by strong female leadership, which instilled in me the value of their expertise and deeply influenced my professional trajectory. This journey has been one of significant growth. From a fresh-faced college graduate, to a Women in Signs 2025 award winner. Along the way, I've earned certifications, become an ISA Elite Alumni, and contributed to local industry boards.

What's even more mind-blowing is knowing that my peers and my owner nominated me. That my boss, coworkers, and partners see me as an inspiring professional who drives innovation.

It is truly inspiring to be included in this elite group of women. I extend my sincere gratitude to Signarama Brighton Colorado and Dawn Homa for the invaluable opportunities and unwavering support that have fostered my growth and contribution within this dynamic industry. My heartfelt appreciation also goes to my husband, Timothy Lynn, and our two children, whose constant encouragement and understanding have been instrumental throughout this journey.
