Signarama is celebrating Sign Manufacturing Day on Friday, October 1, 2021. On Sign Manufacturing Day, also known as Sign MFG Day, businesses in the sign, graphics, and visual communications industry will offer tours of their facilities to encourage students in their local communities to explore career opportunities within the sign industry. Local community members are also welcome to join the tours on Sign MFG Day to help them understand how valuable sign manufacturing is to the economy. The hope is this opportunity will also allow everyone to get a look at the various processes involved with sign manufacturing. Sign MFG Day is held every year in partnership with the International Sign Association (ISA) and the National Association of Manufacturers\' MFG Day.

Why Sign Manufacturing Day is Important

Sign companies throughout the United States can introduce young people to signs and the manufacturing process. One of the industry’s biggest challenges is finding qualified workers. This day celebrates the sign industry’s reach while encouraging the next generation to participate in carrying on the knowledge. There are many opportunities for workers to enhance their professional lives and countless career opportunities in the sign industry from sales and graphic design to manufacturing and installation.

According to the International Sign Association, for two years in a row, 100% of participating students said they learned something new and interesting about the sign industry after attending a Sign Manufacturing Day event. Also, 86% of students said they would consider a career in the sign industry after a tour of a facility, compared to only 23% before participating in Sign Manufacturing Day.
