Double-Sided Blade Sign, Dimensional Logo and Building Sign for Tavello Pizza in Bristol, CT

Sep 14, 2026 by

Tavello Pizza needed an exterior signage package that could introduce its brand from the front of the restaurant and from the side as people moved through the surrounding commercial area. Signarama Newington created multiple sign elements for the Bristol, Connecticut location, including a double-sided blade sign with raised dimensional details and a building sign installed above the main entrance. The result gives Tavello Pizza visibility from different approaches while highlighting the details that make the restaurant distinctive: wood-fired preparation, 48-hour fermented dough and Neo-Neapolitan pizza. A Double-Sided Blade Sign With Dimensional Character Blade signs project outward from a building, making them easier to notice for pedestrians and visitors approaching parallel to the storefront. Unlike a wall sign that is primarily viewed from the front, a double-sided projecting sign carries the business identity in both directions. For Tavello Pizza, the blade sign was developed as more than a flat logo panel. Raised dimensional components form the restaurant name, pizza-oven arch and peel-and-flame symbol. The layered construction gives the design physical depth and creates natural shadowing around the letters and graphics. Warm terracotta-colored pieces form the oven arch, while dark dimensional letters create the Tavello name. At the center, the pizza peel and flame symbol immediately connect the brand to wood-fired cooking. The cream-colored background provides separation between these elements and keeps the complete composition easy to recognize. Below the primary logo, the phrases “Wood Fired,” “48H Fermented” and “Neo-Neapolitan Pizza” explain the restaurant’s concept. This supporting copy helps the sign communicate more than a name—it tells potential customers what type of pizza experience is waiting inside. Because the sign is double-sided, the same dimensional presentation can be seen by people approaching from either direction. Accurate spacing and consistent placement were important so both faces would maintain the same finished appearance. Building Identification Above the Entrance The second major element is the horizontal building sign positioned directly above Tavello Pizza’s entrance. This sign performs a different job from the projecting blade sign: it confirms the exact storefront after guests arrive. The wide format works naturally within the brick façade and fills the available sign area without crowding the surrounding architecture. Tavello appears in bold dark lettering, with the flame graphic adding a focused accent of warm color. The Neo-Neapolitan Pizza description stretches across the lower portion, remaining visible without competing with the restaurant name. A subtle pizza-inspired background pattern adds texture to the panel while preserving strong contrast. The finished display feels connected to the restaurant’s identity and gives the entrance a clear visual anchor. Together, the two exterior signs create a useful sequence. The blade sign draws attention from an angle, and the wall-mounted building sign identifies the doorway from the front. Branding Inspired by the Pizza-Making Process What makes this project memorable is the way the sign design reflects Tavello Pizza’s product. The oven form, flame, pizza peel and warm color palette support the idea of wood-fired cooking. The additional wording introduces the 48-hour fermentation process and Neo-Neapolitan style. These details help distinguish Tavello from a generic pizza storefront. Someone seeing the sign for the first time can understand that the restaurant has a specific approach to its dough and cooking method. The dimensional blade sign adds a crafted quality to that story. Individual raised elements resemble a built composition rather than a single printed image, which suits a restaurant centered on a carefully prepared food product. Restaurant Signage Completed by Signarama Newington This Bristol sign project required different formats to work together as one identity. The dimensional blade sign needed to remain balanced on both faces, while the horizontal building panel had to fit the proportions of the entrance and remain readable against the brick exterior. Signarama Newington provides blade signs, projecting signs, dimensional logos, restaurant building signs, wall panels, storefront lettering, window graphics, menu displays and exterior branding for restaurants throughout Connecticut. For Tavello Pizza, the combination of a double-sided blade sign and entrance sign creates visibility at multiple angles while communicating the restaurant’s wood-fired, 48-hour fermented, Neo-Neapolitan pizza concept.
