Signs of Support: American Legion Hardin Post 113 - Street Sign Update
Mar 23, 2026 by Hunter Hammer
A sign is often the first impression people get. For a community organization like the American Legion, it does more than point the way—it represents pride, tradition, and visibility. Over time, the existing sign had begun to show its age. Faded panels and worn materials didn’t reflect the strength and service of the veterans it represents.
We saw an opportunity to change that—not just with a new sign, but with intentional support.
Making It Possible Through Our Signs of Support Grant
This project was made possible through our Signs of Support grant program, an initiative we offer to local organizations to help make impactful signage projects more accessible through discounted services.
When the American Legion post applied, it was clear to our team that this was an effort worth backing. The work they do to support local veterans, foster community, and preserve important traditions made this an easy decision. We felt strongly that investing in their visibility was another way of investing in the people they serve.
The Goal: Refresh, Not Replace the Legacy
Our mission was simple: update the sign while preserving its meaning. We didn’t want to erase the identity of the post—we wanted to enhance it.
We designed and produced new panels that would:
Improve readability from the road
Use durable, high-quality materials built to last
Reflect a clean, modern look while honoring the Legion’s traditional branding
Every design choice was made with intention. From color matching to layout, we made sure the final result felt both respectful and revitalized.
Creating the new sign panels was a hands-on process from start to finish. We carefully measured the existing structure to ensure a perfect fit, then selected materials that could withstand the elements while maintaining their appearance over time.
The graphics were produced with crisp, high-contrast lettering to make the sign easy to read at a glance—day or night. The updated design gives the sign a fresh presence without losing its familiar identity in the community.
What made this project especially meaningful is who it serves. The American Legion plays a vital role in supporting veterans—offering resources, advocacy, and a place to belong after service.
By updating their sign through our Signs of Support program, we’re helping increase visibility for the post, which can lead to more community engagement, more awareness, and ultimately more support for the veterans who rely on it.
Projects like this remind us why we do what we do. Being able to contribute to organizations that give so much back to others is incredibly rewarding. The American Legion is built on service—and in our own way, this was our opportunity to serve them.
Our Signs of Support grant exists for exactly this reason: to empower local organizations and strengthen the communities we’re proud to be part of.
The updated sign now stands as a symbol of both history and progress. It honors the legacy of those who have served while ensuring the post remains visible and welcoming for years to come.
If you drive by, take a moment to notice it. Behind that sign is a community of veterans who have given so much—and continue to support one another every day. And we’re honored to support them in return.
