310 Architects and Signarama Durham were brought on to combine architectural elements, interior design and space branding. “We’ve had a collaborative relationship with 310 Architects for many years now. We communicate very well on the goals and expectations of a project.” said Kip Greer, Signarama Durham.

The design was based on a centrally-located client briefing center, inspired by a three-dimensional interpretation of the company logo. Signarama Durham was tasked with fine tuning the original architect’s vision and providing both digital visualizations of the proposed look, as well as samples of each and every sign type in the project. “We’re constantly experimenting with creative manufacturing methods to meet specific challenges and stay on budget,” said Kip.

While most of the signage was created using traditional sign crafting methods, there were some dimensional logo elements that were created on our flatbed printer using layered inks on flat cut acrylic to create a 3D appearance. Other value-engineered methods such as laminate letters with painted returns in lieu of cast letters on the lobby wall, digitally-printed etched window films instead of custom textured glass was also used. The client's budget didn't allow for some of the elements that the architect had originally envisioned, so we had to get creative by using visual trickery. We aren't going to let a limited budget keep the client from realizing their vision, and this makes us a valuable partner. Most of our business comes through referrals and our relationships with past customers. We've worked very hard to build our reputation as creative thinkers as opposed to just another sign company or print provider.
