That's because we need specialized files in order to produce their trade show graphics. While most other projects we work on — canvas prints, vinyl banners, etc. — can usually be done with high-resolution photos sent to us as a jpeg file. However, for trade show graphics, we really need EPS Illustrator vector files. (If you don't know what that means, this is why you need a graphic designer.)

If you're working with photos for your trade show graphics, you need rather large files with high resolution. This is also something your graphic designer can help you with. They can translate our specs and provide us with the file sizes that we require.

When we're working with graphics that can be up to 80 – 100 square feet, we have some very special requirements. When a client calls in need of trade show graphics, we send them the necessary templates which have all the proper dimensions and specifications, and their graphic designer designs to the specs. Then they send the file to our FTP site, we download it, and then start the print job.

When we print the images on our digital printer, we use a heavy duty vinyl substrate, which we then laminate to a vinyl overcoat to protect it. We typically use a matte finish to avoid any glare off the graphics, so they're clear and look better under the harsh convention hall lighting.
